Lillie's Baby Sister

Lillie's family is growing into a beautiful circle of love. With her older sister Ivy and her little brother David, Lillie in the Rain is surrounded by two good dance partners and companions at play. All three of the children are very talented and all three can really dance.

Soon, her family will add a baby sister to the dance company that is Lillie in the Rain. Yes, it is all about Lillie on that dance floor, whether it be the stage at the community center or rehearsing with Nanna and Pappy in the living room.

Lillie is one of those children that is so brilliant that her mind is always ten steps ahead of the body. Every now and then, one must remind Lillie to watch where she is walking as she heads to the school bus. Some think she is just absent minded or not paying attention to the car coming as she makes her way to the school bus. But I know that Lillie is just running that new dance step through her mind.

I can see her mind working out the choreography, the costumes and even the hair style for her new dance number. Whenever I visit, Lillie is always anxious to show me her new dance or sing a tune she just made up. Her voice is like an angel and her dancing and choreography shows the brilliance of a future star. What talent!

Tomorrow, I will call her Mom, Kelly to find out if Lillie in the Rain has a new baby sister to dance with her yet. I sure would love to be there but in my heart I already am. I held Lillie in my arms after watching her enter this world.

Types of Dance

At times I have wondered what the best type of dance classes to offer young children. Two of my grand daughters dance so I find myself thinking about this more often.

Let me introduce you to this blog's namesake, Lillie in the Rain. She is a seven year old young lady that has a great exuberance for life. Lillie keeps me inspired to move about since this is what she is all about.

Lillie favors some hip hop with a classical folk dance flair. The lady is talented with a singing voice that rivals Shirley Temple.

Ballet is good to teach young ladies discipline, but jazz will encourage them to have fun with the music, the beat, and add the desire for choreography.

Most of all, free style should be encouraged. Let the little ones blossom in their own talents.

Gave Lives for the Children

On this Memorial Day, I give honor and tribute to all veterans of all wars who served our country. I especially give honor to the memories of those who died in battle and/or service to the preservation of freedom and rights for all humankind, for which the great nation of America stands.

Beyond paying honor to the memories of those who died in battle, I also pay tribute to those who served and lived , and those who served but passed on to the next life, though not dying in battle.

Most of all, I honor those who served their country to preserve it for the children. This blog is about children. The children are our future and our hope for humanity to continue. In this spirit, I say thanks and may God bless all our heroes great and small and may God bless our children and allow them to inherit an honorable God loving nation that honors God and one another.
